Most things that you were used to in the current UI are still here, and should all still work as they used to (although it is a bit easier to find). The biggest difference in the new UI is that it is much more clear how to activate the applet. After you have it set up, and it has received your first boot, the applet will now stick around. If it appears to be stuck (and you haven’t selected a screensaver image yet), you can right click on it, and select “Show applet”.
